Juli 2015 zum UNESCO-Weltkulturerbe z\u00e4hlt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Es wurde ab 1131 nach Willen von Roger II gebaut. Man sagt, nach einem Sturm auf See gefl\u00fcchtet, in Cefal\u00f9 angekommen, l\u00f6ste er die Stimmen f\u00fcr die erhaltene Gnade auf und beschloss, den Dom zu bauen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Das imposante und majest\u00e4tische Geb\u00e4ude hat an seinen Seiten zwei T\u00fcrme, die ihm das Aussehen einer Festung geben. Nach dem urspr\u00fcnglichen Projekt sollte der Dom eine noch dominantere und wichtigere Rolle spielen. Tats\u00e4chlich wurde es im oberen Teil des alten Fischerdorfes mit einer Aussicht errichtet, die die gesamte K\u00fcste und die Umgebung beherrschte.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Im Inneren des Geb\u00e4udes ist die dominante Figur sicherlich der von Christus Pantokrator (Allm\u00e4chtiger), der in seiner linken Hand das Buch des Evangeliums h\u00e4lt, in dem er liest: &#8222;Ich bin das Licht der Welt.
